Erika Simon, MA, LMFT-A completed her Psychology Bachelor’s degree from the University of St. Thomas and received her Master’s degree from the University of Houston, Clear Lake. A Mexican native that is fluent in English and Spanish, Erika has gained invaluable experience as a therapist during her work at the Houston-Galveston Institute, The Family Enrichment Clinic, and The Couple Zone. She is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT), and the Houston Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (HAMFT).


Her passion and specialty is working with clients of diverse ethnicity, age, and gender, Erika’s clients include children, individuals, couples and families. She is trained to work with diverse issues that her clients may be facing. Her therapeutic approach is client-entered, collaborative, and culturally sensitive.  She bases her approach on the belief that the client is the expert on his or her life circumstances and that her job as a therapist, is not to dictate treatment, but to shape the process using the values, desires and needs of her clients.


Offering a unique method of collaborative counseling, Erika helps teenagers, individuals, couples, families and communities of all socioeconomic backgrounds. Keeping her clients goals in the forefront, she works with clients to help them create small, specific, and manageable goals that can be easily accomplished and recognized. Through this approach, clients find new solutions and the strength to endure challenges and overcome obstacles. Erika completed training as a Parenting Coordinator, which helps work with families in an impartial way in order to reduce conflict and help improve communication skills. Her role as a Parenting Coordinator is to empower parents and work in the best interest of their child(red). Erika is also certified as a Gentle Sleep Coach and as a Bringing Baby Home educator as a result, is able to help couples through the transition into parenting.


Erika is fully bilingual helping the Spanish and English speaking community in Houston Texas, extending into families, couples, individuals, and children.
